Is it really a 50/50 chance if you bet on black or red in roulette?

Even though the odds of the ball landing on either black or red are almost 50/50, they aren’t because of the presence of one or two green numbers on the table: the zero and the double zero (the double zero is there in American roulette, but it isn’t there in European roulette or most other versions of the popular table game).

The actual odds of the ball landing on red or black are 46.37% on an American Roulette table, whilst they are 48.6% in a European Roulette table.
